SendGrid has upgraded its email editing capabilities so marketers have the flexibility to choose between coding emails in HTML or designing them with a drag-and-drop email builder.
The cloud-based communications platform released Email Marketing Editing Experience on Tuesday to empower marketers to design emails in a manner that suits them best, whether it’s the
convenience of drag-and-drop or efficiency of code. Marketers can design emails in code, in design view, or a combination of both.
The email design solution has two editing products to help
marketers develop creative collateral: a code editor and design editor.
The latter editing product is geared for marketers without HTML knowledge, and offers an easy-to-use drag-and-drop
builder. Marketers can choose to expand on the design editor with HTML coding if they choose, by modifying individual content models. Additional product features include per-module HTML editing,
custom code modules, and the option to import customized email templates.
SendGrid also claims that Email Marketing Editing Experience helps eliminate the risk of unwanted changes to HTML
code, since its code editor offers protection from HTML modifications. Additional features include split-screen code, preview editing, and scroll syncing to pinpoint the exact location of
HTML.
Patrick Meyer, creative director at Wine Exchange, who is a SendGrid customer, says tools like A/B testing and professional drag-and-drop building are instrumental in
creating campaigns that drive sales, and highlights the "control" and "flexibility" of SendGrid's Marketing Campaigns editor as key features.
