Forget perfect, picking out a gift that comes close to being wanted can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. 

To help make it a little easier, R/GA and Verizon have partnered with Spotify this holiday season to create a tool that enables gift givers to zero in a little more precisely on what's desired and gift receivers the ability to point them in the right direction.  

Now available at www.vzw.com/playlist, “Holiday Hintlists" are fun, curated playlists that spell out what tech products consumers want for the holidays. 

The experience is designed to showcase Verizonwireless.com as a shopping destination for the holidays and promote the wide range of tech products available there, including smartphones, headphones, smartwatches and connected home devices. 

"Hintlist" users select the gift they are interested in receiving at www.vzw.com/playlist, and the platform generates a custom “hint” playlist on Spotify. But these playlists aren’t meant to be listened to--they’re designed to be read. The song titles spell out secret gift requests users can share with friends and families through their social channels. 

Targeting millennials, R/GA curated hundreds of playlists, all featuring real songs already on Spotify with names like “Z2” and “Samsung S8," the latter written for a TV spot.  

R/GA says the activation is based on the insight that millennials are obsessed with sharing music playlists and tend to create and share more of them during the holiday season.
