NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises has launched a new
division, Telemundo Global Studios, led by Marcos Santana as president. He reports to Cesar Conde, NBCU International Group/ Telemundo Enterprises chairman.
For now, no new hires are
anticipated with the consolidation, per a Telemundo spokesperson.
Rather than just an administrative convenience, the new structure, which unites Telemundo Studios, Telemundo International
Studios and Telemundo International, capitalizes on the company’s momentum, she added.
Each unit targets specific audiences with its own content. At the end of 2017, Telemundo was the
No. 1 Spanish broadcaster in prime time, per Nielsen.
Conde stated that Santana’s “decades of experience in content development, production and distribution” would be an
asset as the company expanded its content.
