Verizon Launches TechSure To Support Connected Home Devices

Verizon is adding a new personal helpdesk to support the increasing number of smart home devices.

The service will provide different levels of tech support, with different fees for each.

“Laptops, tablets, TVs, thermostats, security cameras, doorbells, light bulbs – these days, almost everything in the modern home is connected to the internet,” states the Verizon announcement. “With that in mind, Verizon has launched TechSure to give Fios and high speed internet customers both the digital and physical protection they need for their increasingly digital lives.”

The three levels range from $10 to $30 a month. Here are the levels:

  • TechSure – Anytime phone support for all connected devices, including software installation device setup support and troubleshooting. $10 a month.
  • TechSure Plus – Adds identify theft, virus protection and parental controls. $15 a month.
  • TechSure Premium – Adds that if a TV, tablet, smart thermostat or any other eligible gadget breaks down, Verizon will repair or replace it. $30 a month. 

Verizon notes that “no one can prevent all identify theft.”
