Google on Tuesday unveiled the Google News Initiative in another step to fight fake news and help publishers generate a source of revenue.
The worldwide movement means Google will partner with news publications to help highlight the most accurate information possible. Launch partners in some of the programs include The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Telegraph and the Financial Times.
"Platforms like Search and YouTube depend on a healthy ecosystem of publishers producing great digital content," Philipp Schindler, chief business officer at Google, wrote in a post. "That’s why it’s so important to us that we help you drive sustainable revenue and businesses."
Schindler explains that last year Google paid $12.6 billion to partners, driving 10 billion clicks a month to publishers’ websites for free.
During the next three years, Google will commit $300 million to meet its goals, Schindler wrote.
Some of the platforms to help publishers include insights and partnerships. A News Consumer Insights dashboard running on Google Analytics aims to help news organizations understand and segment their audiences based on a subscriptions strategy. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch managed to increase page views to their subscriber pages by more than 150%, with a month-over-month tripling of new digital subscription purchases.
The program comes as Google and news agencies try to hash out their difference. So Google, along with First Draft, plans to launch Disinfo Lab to fight mis- and disinformation during elections and times of breaking news.
And finally, Google will assist those who read news on the internet to distinguish fact from fiction online by teaming up with the Poynter Institute, Stanford University, and the Local Media Association to launch MediaWise, a U.S. project designed to improve digital information literacy for young consumers.
а где те деньги которые заработали на нас почему они молчат
Laurie, I wrote Joe M. a detailed email about a new kind attack in Google Search. This attack is designed to hurt my Google Search Rankings. Sweepsakestoday.com was on the first page out of many millions for the keyword "Sweepstakes", one of the most valueable vanity keywords in any search engine. What this Denial of Search Ranking attack does is a massive creation of fake pages, some with bad links, some with no links. All have my domain name, keywords, and even competitors. Based on the number a expert report that was published, there could be upwards to 200,000 spam links in Google Search. Worse, the bad guys are using about a 1,000 domain names and are in private mode.
I have told, pleaded, and more to get Google's help. One response BS answer to write another complaint in a forum. I am having to get help from ICANN, the FBI, and two private firms. I have lost over $100,000 and maybe $10,000,000 in stock value in Sweepstakes Today. This does not include other factors of harm caused like my massive page ranking drop.
So if you would be so kind, ask Google to look into this before I turn this over to the attorneys which is my last choice. I will also go on a PR campaign to get this stopped.
Laurie, another part about this Denial of Ranking Attack. There I have seen plenty of fake pages attack other competitors of Google like Amazon, HGTV, PCH and many more major brands in the contents of all of these pages. I have been reading them and putting them my Google "Disavow List" since January. This is starting to look like a joke because I have sumitted over 250 links, most with different domain names like: www.ryygojhws.loan/ (changed for your protection) yet hardly none have been removed by Google. The whole Google Search Console and Disavow is a PR joke by Google.
Pass my post on to your Google friends and ask to seriously look into the problem I am facing. I think I know who is behind this and it has to do with millions of dollars in online advertising changing hands.
