During CES in
January, Comcast Xfinity announced an expansion of its home automation across the entire Xfinity portfolio, which includes its voice remote, home security and Xfinity mobile.
At the time, 15
million Xfinity customers automatically got smart home capabilities at no additional cost.
Now Comcast is extending the automating IoT features by adding a new personalized home Wi-Fi, with
the ability to display notifications on TV, change channels and pause home network devices, all through the Stringify app.
Stringify, which provide central control for many smart devices
ranging from Amazon’s Alexa to Honeywell’s thermostats, was acquired by Comcast last year.
The new capabilities extend smart home control to the Android Wear watch, so owners can
tap their watch to turn lights on or off, adjust the thermostat, pause their children’s devices or raise or close shades, thanks to Stringify.
This is the first extension of Comcast
Xfinity smart home features to Android Wear.
