The Roku
Channel, Roku’s free, ad-supported streaming video channel, is adding a number of shows from high-profile partners like Showtime, Fox and Epix as part of a promotion tied to the 10th anniversary
of the first Roku player.
Whole seasons from Showtime’s “Billions” and “Ray Donovan,” Epix’s “Get Shorty” and Fox’s “Beat
Shazam, among others, will be available on the channel through May 20, which the company calls “National Streaming Day.” The company is also offering discounts on its various hardware
devices.
Roku has said that The Roku Channel is a growth business for the company, with plans to expand it to other streaming platforms. The channel features content Roku has
acquired from other media companies, supported by its targeted advertising.
