The CW will grow its prime-time lineup next year -- adding another night, Sunday, to its schedule. Five new series will be added to the new season, with three starting in the fall. There are no reality shows.

Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, says all 12 hours per week are scripted -- all one-hour programs -- a total that surpasses ABC, NBC, or Fox in prime time. Only its sister network CBS has more.

With the season ending in a few days, the CW has been averaging a Nielsen 0.6 rating/2 share this season among 18-49 viewers and a prime-time 1.72 million average viewers this season.

A year ago for the entire 2016-2017 season, CW had a 0.7 rating among 18-49 viewers and 1.8 million prime-time viewers.

As with other networks, The CW is dipping into the past.

It will start up a new version of  “Charmed,” which will run on its new Sunday night of programming at 9 p.m. after “SuperGirl” at 8 p.m. Another new drama, “All American,” focuses on a real-life high-school football star from South Los Angeles, and will take the Wednesday, 9 p.m. slot.

On Thursday after "Supernatural," new drama/mystery "Legacies," set in the world of "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals," will start at 9 p.m.

New mid-season shows include “In the Dark,” about a disaffected, hard-drinking 20something woman who is also blind.

The CW is also bringing back a new version of “Roswell, New Mexico” -- famed for its legend as the ground zero location for those who seek proof that aliens exist. The original “Roswell” ran first on the WB starting in 1999 and then on UPN in the 2001-2002 TV season.
