Trendline Interactive Buys Inbox Pros, Gets New Investment

Trendline Interactive, an email marketing agency, has acquired Inbox Pros, an email deliverability firm, and has received an investment from Growth Catalyst Partners (GCP). Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition expands Trendline’s service offering into the areas provided by Inbox Pros — deliverability, privacy, compliance and training. Trendline had specialized in email strategy, technology, execution and analytics.

“The acquisition of Inbox Pros adds a critical component that email marketing and digital agencies have traditionally ignored,” states Morgan Stewart, Trendline CEO and co-founder.

“You can build your email database, plan out a great strategy, and develop spot on creative, but if your messages don’t get to the inbox, it’s all for nothing,” said Chris Arrendale, founder of Inbox Pros and new chief privacy officer for Trendline.

GCP, a lower middle-market buyout firm, hopes to accelerate growth initiatives for the combined platform, it says. The goal is to create a “leading middle-market email marketing agency,” states James O’Callaghan, vice president of GCP.

The investment is being headed for GCP by O’Callaghan, and by Jim TenBroek and Scott Peters. GCP says the financing was “proprietarily sourced.”

GCP was helped with this transaction by the law firm Dickinson-Wright LLP for this transaction. Trendline Interactive was assisted by McGinnis Lochridge and Inbox Pros by Patel Burkhalter Law Group.
