Viacom’s Viacom Digital Studios division has named Rebecca Glashow and Shelley Zimmerman as the co-heads of Awesomeness.
Viacom acquired the company, known as
AwesomenessTV, back in July, adding it to the portfolio of properties in its Digital Studios unit.
Awesomeness CEO Jordan Levin departed the company following the acquisition.
Glashow had been serving as Chief Strategy and Distribution Officer for Awesomeness, while Zimmerman led the company’s LA-based TV studio. Both will now report to Viacom Digital Studios
president Kelly Day.
Viacom is tasking Awesomeness with developing youth-focused premium content on digital platforms, building on what it was doing as an independent
company.
Awesomeness also slots in somewhat neatly to Viacom’s other digital studios projects. Its target audience is slightly older than Nickelodeon, but a bit younger than
MTV or Comedy Central.
