M&C Saatchi Buys A Stake In NY Creative Shop THAT

M&C Saatchi Worldwide has purchased a minority interest in New York creative shop Technology Humans And Taste (THAT). Terms were not disclosed.

The agency’s clients include Nike, Michael Kors, IBM, Kayak, The Kraken Rum, DKNY, Casper Mattress and Grubhub.

THAT was founded in 2016 by CEO David Kalvert and Chief Creative Officer Nathan Phillips. Managing director Dena Graham joined about a year ago.

Per the terms of the agreement, THAT will work in tandem with Saatchi’s New York-based agency SS+K to serve clients in the North American region of the M&C Saatchi network. Phillips worked for SS+K from 2011 to 2013.

THAT has a process for developing insights and problem solving that it calls “Creative Dim Sum.” It describes the process as “as a series of strategic workshops in a dinner-party setting that inspire collaboration between subject matter experts, professional creatives and brand executives to drive breakthrough thinking.”
