Iterable Names Jeff Samuels As COO

Iterable, the provider of a cross-channel marketing platform, has named Jeff Samuels as chief operating officer.

He will be responsible for scaling Iterable’s go-to-market operations, and will also serve as a board observer on the company’s board of directors.

Samuels has held several executive posts in the security, web hosting and communications industries.

In his previous role, he served as global vice president of Cisco’s security business. Samuels joined Cisco when it acquired OpenDNS, a cloud security firm.

“Marketers have always been in search of their holy grail: a solution that can ingest and dynamically respond to massive amounts of real-time data to deliver optimal customer engagement across all channels,” said Samuels, commenting on his new challenges.

Justin Zhu, CEO of Iterable, states that Samuels will “help evolve our enterprise strategy."

Iterable’s cross-channel capability supports email, push, SMS, in-app and other channels.

Last month, the firm announced that it had raised $50 million in Series C funding, bringing the firm’s total financing to $80 million. The participants included Blue Cloud Ventures, CRV, Harmony Partners, Index Ventures and Stereo Capital.

The funding will drive product development and international go-to-market expansion, the company said.

The company serves over 300 brands, including Zillow, Box, and SeatGeek.
