Publicis Groupe is
launching Publicis Sport in France that will package up sport-related marketing programs for clients, providing consulting, strategy, sponsorship, content, licensing and other services.
"This
creation comes at a time when sport is more than ever a major relay for brands wishing to conquer a wide audience through impactful and committed communications," says Agathe Bousquet, President of
Publicis Groupe France.
The new offering is being tested on the Groupe's home turf to work out kinks before the company decides whether to roll out the practice globally.
The
group will be led by Pascal Crifo, who is president of the media agency Blue 449. Ex-karate world champion and ex-Lagardère Plus executive Guillaume Cossou will serve as Managing Director
pulling talent from Publicis Group agencies for creation, strategy, data, digital and media. Their first project will debut this summer.
"Nothing is stronger than sport to bring universality
to brands, convey emotions and stimulate audience engagement," says Crifo. "This is what we want to bring to brands and it is also this magic that we want to reveal by accompanying the sports world in
its communications."
