Sid Lee Appoints Bateman To Oversee Its Expanding U.S. Operation

Ad agency Sid Lee has appointed Andy Bateman as the shop’s U.S. CEO.

The appointment comes as the agency’s parent kyu Collective is redoubling efforts to expand Sid Lee’s presence in the U.S. As part of that effort sibling shops Digital Kitchen, branding firms Hornall Anderson and Red Peak and content firm Infrared are joining the Sid Lee fold.

Bateman was previously national lead partner for innovation strategy at Monitor Deloitte Australia. In the role he advised CEO’s, companies and other entities on the impact of new technologies, customer-driven marketing approaches and the application of data to innovation and growth.

Before relocating back to Australia nearly a decade ago, Bateman was CEO at Omnicom’s Interbrand in New York. He also held roles at McCann, Publicis and J. Walter Thompson. At Sid Lee, he’ll be based in Los Angeles.

“Sid Lee has always been a disruptor,” said Bertrand Cesvet, CEO of Sid Lee Group. “Andy’s business acumen, combined with his extensive experience in digital, data and consulting, brings new firepower to Sid Lee’s vision.”
