SocketLabs, a provider of email delivery software, has named Keith Hontz as chief revenue officer, a new title at the firm.
Hontz will oversee new customer acquisition, sales functions and strategic partnerships, and will help to define the company’s go-to-market strategy.
He will also drive a new focus on industries such as IT, marketing, sales, service, commerce, HR, operations and fulfillment and CRM.
Hontz had been global vice president of SAP Industries at SAP America Inc. Most recently, he served as an executive advisor to tech start-ups at the SAP.iO Foundry.
His appointment comes at a time when the email field faces many challenges.
“The business impact of email continues to grow as a vital communication channel for enabling customer engagement, yet over 20 percent of commercial email worldwide fails to reach the intended recipient’s inbox, either getting diverted to spam folders or blocked altogether,” Hontz observes.
