Omnicom Wins Top Holding Company Honors, Wieden Is Agency Of The Year At Cannes

A slimmed-down Cannes Lions Festival wrapped on Friday with Omnicom taking home holding company of the year honors for the second year in a row.

Interpublic was second and WPP came in third.

Three Omnicom creative networks contributed to the cause — DDB, BBDO and TBWA — with all three landing in the Top 5 Networks Of The Year Category.

DDB was second, BBDO was fourth and TBWA was fifth.

IPG network McCann was declared Network Agency Of The Year, and sibling shop FCB took third place.

But all that holding-company creative firepower couldn’t capture the coveted Agency Of The Year prize.

Nope -- that went to indie powerhouse Wieden + Kennedy. Its daring work for Nike -- “Dream Crazy,” with former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, won a bunch of awards.

Not surprisingly, W+K won indie agency of the year honors, as well.

Congrats to all the Lions awardees, which you can read more about here.
