More Soup For You: 'Seinfeld' Experience Coming To New York

For those of you who still love watching "Seinfeld" reruns — and I know you’re out there — you’re in for a treat this fall.

Well, at least if you can make it to New York City, where experiential marketing agency Superfly will be putting on “The Seinfeld Experience,” a ticketed attraction the agency says will be a “fully immersive behind-the-scenes look” at the iconic '90s TV sitcom.

Created by its star Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David,  the show also featured a wildly talented core ensemble that included Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine), Jason Alexander (George) and Michael Richards (Kramer).

Today’s announcement is tied to the 30th anniversary of the show’s debut on July 5, 1989. It ran for nine years on NBC becoming one of the most popular sitcoms in TV history and part of the network’s Thursday night juggernaut lineup.

“The Seinfeld Experience” will allow fans to immerse themselves in the world of the TV show with exhibits that present memorable moments, costumes, set recreations and showcase the troupe of quirky characters that participated beyond the core cast.

Also promised is “never before seen content,” which probably translates to cutting-room floor material and probably more current interviews with the cast looking back on the experience.

The space will also feature a retail store with merchandise specific to the show and the experience.

Jerry Seinfeld issued a comment: "Because I am Seinfeld, for a long time, I was the only person to actually have the Seinfeld experience. Now, these crazy Superfly people are going to make it so lots of people can interact with our silly '90s TV show. All I can say is, in the general context of the world we live in, this now seems completely normal."

Located in the Gramercy neighborhood in Manhattan, the experience will open in the fall, operating seven days a week. Tickets will go on sale in the coming months and will be available for purchase through February 2020 via www.theseinfeldexperience.com.

Superfly has helped stage a number of live experiences, like Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Outside Lands, Clusterfest and Grandoozy.  It’s worked with brands like Citi, Intel and Google to raise their profiles with content, design, digital, and well, you know, yada, yada, yada.

The agency is headquartered in New York, with offices in Chicago and San Francisco.
