Constant Contact Works Wth WooCommerce To Help SMBs Create Online Stores, Send Emails

Constant Contact, a provider of marketing services to small businesses, has formed a new integration with the e-commerce platform WooCommerce to allow users to turn their WordPress website into an online store.

Small businesses using WooCommerce can connect their stores to their Constant Contact email account and send automated, personalized emails containing product information.

These emails can be sent to first-time buyers — people who have purchased in the last 30 days, repeat buyers and others, the firm says.

In addition, Constant Contact is enhancing its Shopify integration to help small businesses segment online customers based on their purchase activity.

This will allow them to create personalized marketing emails based on activities in a given time frame — i.e., the number of orders and the amount of revenue generated, the firm says.

SMBs can also segment their email lists by email open and click activity, and contact details such as location and birthday month.

Given Mailchimp's departure from Shopify, Constant Contact claims it is helping to fill a critical void for small ecommerce companies.

“Creating a marketing strategy for e-commerce is not just about how to get more sales but also making the customer experience better, generating repeat business, creating brand awareness, and building lasting customer relationships,” states Luca Sechi, vice president of corporate strategy at Constant Contact.
