IPG has promoted Andy Polansky to Chairman-CEO of Constituency Management Group, the holding company unit that houses a portfolio of specialty marketing firms across disciplines like sports and experiential marketing, PR, brand consulting, social media and others.
He succeeds Frank Mergenthaler in the role.
The company had previously confirmed that Mergenthaler, who has simultaneously served as IPG Chief Financial Officer, would be stepping down from his roles at the end of 2019.
Polansky has served as CEO of PR firm Weber Shandwick since 2012. Gail Heimann, who has served as Weber Shandwick’s global president since 2013, succeeds Polansky as CEO, while retaining her current duties.
Polansky will add the title of executive chairman at the firm, which is part of CMG.
In addition to Weber Shandwick, the CMG portfolio includes Golin, Octagon, Jack Morton, DeVries Global, Current Global, Rogers & Cowan and FutureBrand.
