'Time' Names Viktoria Degtar First Chief Revenue Officer

Time has named Viktoria Degtar its first Chief Revenue Officer, and announced three new leadership roles signaling a heavier focus on the publisher's sales and marketing efforts.

In a memo to staff, Time president Keith Grossman announced Susanna Schrobsdorff will assume dual roles as senior vice president, partnerships as well as executive editor; Radhika Prakash will serve as senior vice president, brand & content marketing; and Maya Draisin joins as senior vice president, progress marketing.

“Given the pace of change the marketing ecosystem is undergoing today, it is important that we employ multiple approaches to how we engage with our audiences as well as provide our partners with innovative solutions to their marketing objectives,” Grossman wrote in the memo.

Grossman, who joined Time five weeks ago, worked with Degtar at Bloomberg, where she oversaw the growth of its business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Degtar has also served as the vice president of sales at HuffPo and held roles at Federated Media, Martha Stewart and the Financial Times.

Degtar will be based out of London through July 2020 to help build “local” infrastructures internationally, Grossman wrote. She will move to New York next summer.

The Time sales team will report directly to her.

The new marketing leadership “will focus on important disciplines within our organization, ranging from supporting our partners to positioning our brand in the marketplace and how it is marketed to evolving and reimagining the consumer experience itself,” Grossman wrote.

Schrobsdorff has been at Time for eight years, on both the editorial and marketing sides. In her new role she will continue to act as liaison between the editorial and business teams, as well as continue to write for publication.

Prakash comes most recently from BlackRock, where she was the global head of content strategy & media. She has previously served as the head of brand & creative strategy at Pinterest and also held positions at L’Oreal, Elizabeth Arden and Unilever.

At Time, Prakash will lead brand strategy, brand storytelling and custom content.

Draisin joins Time from Conde Nast, where she was the vice president of marketing,

Meredith sold Time to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and his wife Lynne for $190 million last fall.
