Tech devices are the hot items for holiday shoppers.
About half (49%) the U.S. population plans to shop during Black Friday week (Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday) and 82% of those shoppers plan to purchase tech devices and accessories, according to a new study.
Of those tech buyers, the top planned purchases are wireless earbuds and headphones (57%), according to the study, comprising a survey of 2,000 U.S. adults conducted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).
Nearly half (46%) plan to buy mobile device cases, 42% video game discs, 42% portable battery chargers, 41% streaming and download services such as Netflix or Spotify and 41% smartphones.
Retailers with physical stores may be happy to hear that nearly all (97%) U.S. adult tech shoppers plan to shop in-person at brick-and-mortar stores.
Plenty (83%) of shoppers also plan to shop online, slightly more than a year ago, and 81% plan to shop via a mobile device.
The big swing this year is that 48% plan to shop for tech deals using voice assistants like Siri or Amazon Alexa, 9% more than last year.
For the entire holiday shopping season, CTA projects overall tech spending will reach $97 billion in revenue in the U.S.
Consumers will be loaded with plenty of new tech gadgetry heading into the new year.
