Austin Digital Agency T3 Sold To LRW Group

T3, the 30-year Austin, TX digital agency has been sold to marketing services company LRW Group for an undisclosed sum.

As part of the agreement, T3, with 200 staffers, will become part of LRW’s Los Angeles-based Action Division, which provides brand and marketing services to a roster of clients. Tom Bernthal is president of  that operation which is part of the Tailwind Capital portfolio of companies.

T3 founder Gay Gaddis is stepping down as CEO. Her son Ben Gaddis, who has been president of T3 since 2016, is stepping into the CEO role and will continue to oversee day-to-day operations of the agency.

T3—known for its experience and design work-- will continue to service its own clients (UPS, Pizza Hut and 7-Eleven among them) and now work with LRW clients as well.

“T3’s sustained growth and achievement over the last three decades is a testament to its ability to adapt and thrive through the breakneck pace of change in the digital space,” stated Bernthal.

“The partnership with LRW Group gives us the ability to scale and take T3 to the next level, while maintaining our unique culture,” added Ben Gaddis. “At our core, we’re a family business that has always valued an independent mindset. It’s an honor to build upon Gay’s legacy and lead the company in this next phase of our journey.”

T3 is LRW’s fifth acquisition this year.  Last month, it added branding agency Salt, as well as communications firm Karma Agency. Earlier it added strategic consultancy LRWGreenberg (formerly Greenberg Strategies) and visual communication agency Killer Visual Strategies (previously known as Killer Infographics).

Investment bank JEGI|Clarity represented T3 in the sale.
