Sorrell's S4 Capital Adds 2 CEOs (And APAC Specialists) To Its Board

Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital has just added two CEOs with expertise in the Asia-Pacific Region to its board of directors. With the appointments, the board total rises to 14, equally divided between executive and nonexecutive members.

The appointments reinforce S4’s commitment to expansion in the APAC region and follow the opening of the firm’s Singapore office earlier this year. In October, S4 acquired Datalicious Korea, a South Korea-based data and analytics consultancy, and now is aligned with its programmatic agency MightyHive.

The new board members, both women, are Naoko Okumoto and Margaret Ma Connolly.

Okumoto is CEO-managing partner of investment and consulting firm Amber Bridge Partners. The firm specializes in cross-border business development between the U.S. and Asia-Pacific. She is also a partner and executive adviser to Z Corporation, a blockchain-focused fund owned by Softbank subsidiary Z Holdings Corp.

Connolly is CEO, Asia of Informa Markets, the exhibitions, content and data solutions arm of Informa, the British multinational events and publishing company.

Sorrell said the two executives add “Silicon Valley and Chinese know-how and wisdom, which are two critically important areas of expertise for S4 Capital’s future.”
