German Privacy Watchdog Hits Telecom With GDPR Fine

A Germany data authority has levied a €9.55 million fine against 1&1 Telecommunications for failing to put “sufficient technical and organizational measures” to protect customer data. Callers to the firm’s call center could obtain customer information by providing their name and date of birth.
