OMD, Ogilvy Top R3's Media, Creative Agency New Business Tables For 2019

Omnicom’s OMD was tops globally in new business last year among media agencies according to an analysis by consultant R3 Worldwide. WPP’s Ogilvy took top honors among creative agencies. 

Per the R3 media agency rundown, OMD had 369 wins accounting for net new business revenue of $219.3 million. 

Carat was second with 228 total wins and $172.2 million in net new business revenue, followed by Horizon Media (60 wins, $144.3 million), Mindshare (306 wins, $121 million), and MediaCom (452 wins, $77.4 million). 

Rounding out the top 10 (respectively) were Dentsu x, Havas Media, UM, PHD and Starcom. 

The 20 media agencies assessed won a total of 2,621 new pieces of business accounting for $946 million in net new business revenue. 

Top-ranked creative agency Ogilvy had 278 wins globally and $144.3 million in net new business revenue. DDB was second (199 wins, $120.4 million) and Havas Worldwide was third (180 wins, $110.7 million).

McCann Worldgroup was fourth (227 wins, $91.9 million) and Publicis was fifth (207 wins, $90.8 million). 

Rounding out the top 10: Isobar, Leo Burnett, Digitas, Publicis Groupe and MullenLowe Group. 

The 20 creative agencies in the tally won a total of 3,487 pitches worth $1.774.7 billion in net new business revenue. 

By holding company WPP was ranked number one with $417 million in net new business revenue, followed by Publicis Groupe ($379.6 million) and Dentsu ($372.1 million). Rounding out the top 5: Omnicom ($369.8 million) and Interpublic ($319.2 million). 

Havas was sixth-ranked ($176.2 million), Accenture was seventh ($39.9 million) and MDC Partners eighth ($18.1 million).
