Auto Aftermarket Company Names Female CMO

Automotive aftermarket company Driven Brands, which includes Maaco, Meineke Car Care Centers and Take 5 Oil Change, has named its first female CMO.

Summer Nunn will also handle Carstar, Abra, 1-800-Radiator & A/C and Clairus Group.

The announcement comes as Driven Brands signs Charlotte, N.C.-based advertising agency, Mythic to oversee work across the portfolio.

Driven Brands has 3,100 retail centers across the United States and Canada, and combined, all businesses generate more than $3.1 billion in system sales and service approximately 9 million vehicles annually.

Nunn has been with Driven Brands for five years, most recently as senior vice president of marketing for Take 5 Oil Change, where she built out the strategy and organization, creating a scalable platform for growth.

Before joining the Take 5 team, she was the vice president of marketing for Meineke, focusing heavily on direct marketing.

She joined Driven Brands after 6 years at Red Ventures, a technology company,  where she focused on customer acquisition marketing.

Driven Brands and Mythic’s relationship dates back to the launch of Carstar North America’s first-ever integrated marketing brand campaign, “It’s Your Car,” in 2018.

Nunn replaces Blair Boggs, who becomes chief revenue officer, which includes supervising franchise development, real estate, marketing and data insights and analytics.

A recent report by consultancy McKinsey found that in corporate America, women represent only 21% of C-suite executives, 30% of vice-president-level executives and 38% of managers. But the lack of opportunity for women is even more severe in the auto industry, where women make up only 13% of C-suite executives, 18% of vice-president-level executives and 20% of managers.
