Starbucks is testing mobile crypto payments called Bakkt Cash.
The digital wallet company Bakkt had its payment technology integrated into the Starbucks mobile app.
Bakkt, launched two years ago, recently raised $300 million from Intercontinental Exchange, Microsoft’s M12, PayU, Boston Consulting Group, Goldfinch Partners, CMT Digital and Pantera Capital.
The startup helped launch the first end-to-end regulated market for bitcoin in 2019.
Starbucks expects a range of cryptocurrencies will grain traction with its customers, reported Coindesk.
Bakkt manages digital assets such as loyalty and reward points, merchant stored value and cryptocurrencies.
