Acura PR Exec Shifts To Advertising

American Honda is shifting one of its top public relations executives to the advertising department.

On April 1, Sage Marie will become assistant vice president of Acura advertising. Previously, the position was held by Susie Rossick, who is retiring from the automaker. Marie will report to Jay Joseph, who is the vice president of the marketing division of automobile sales at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

“I'm looking forward to this new challenge, as Acura has been steadily sharpening its focus on its performance-focused brand roots,” Marie said in a statement. “You will see us further accelerate this effort in the months ahead with multiple new products, including the promised return of Type S performance variants to the Acura lineup.”

Taking Marie’s former position of senior manager and department head of American Honda Public Relations will be Matt Sloustcher, who will assume responsibility for both the Honda and Acura brands, along with the shows and exhibits team, the department that manages the company's auto show displays. He will also head PR for Honda power equipment, marine and motorsports. Sloustcher is currently head of Acura brand public relations.
