Bed Bath & Beyond Donates Products Worth $10 Million

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. is donating $10 million in products to those affected by COVID-19.

Beyond medical-grade supplies, those directly affected by the pandemic say they need essential home items like towels, sheets and pillows. A survey from Good360 found that over the past four weeks, 60% of nonprofits around the country were in need of home goods, and 47% sought bedding.

The initiative, “Bringing Home Everywhere,” will deliver items including home, baby and infant, health and personal care, and food and beverage.

The program is being launched in partnership with Good360, which assists 90,000 charities worldwide. Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has worked with Good360 since 2001.

Bed Bath & Beyond is one retailer that seems to be fairing well in the pandemic, despite temporary closures of brick and mortar locations. The company brought back some employees after an 85% online sales jump in April.

The company recently appointed Cindy Davis as executive vice president and chief brand officer, effective May 26. She will head marketing and communication across the company’s various retail banners and will lead the team responsible for growing Decorist, the retailer’s digital interior design platform. The company combined the chief brand and chief marketing positions into one role in December.

Some “Bringing Home Everywhere" donations have already been made, including 3,500 towels to 13 hospitals across New York’s five boroughs.

In Canada, baby monitors were donated by Bed Bed Bath & Beyond division buybuy BABY to two Toronto, Ontario hospitals, enabling front-line healthcare professionals to communicate remotely with ICU teams and COVID-19 patients.
