Discovery has acquired Tele5, a German FTA entertainment channel, from the Leonine media company.

“This enables us to tap new target audience groups and expand our marketing potential with the reach of Tele5,” said Susanne Aigner, MD of Discovery Germany.

The agreement also includes long-term access to Leonine’s fiction library.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals.

Separately, ViacomCBS Networks International has a new, expanded distribution deal with Orange in France.

ViacomCBS Networks France's entire portfolio, including previously exclusive content, will now be available to Orange TV subscribers on both linear and on-demand platforms.

Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon Junior, Nickelodeon+1 and Nickelodeon Teen will be added to the Orange platforms on July 9. MTV, MTV Hits and J-One will be added August 20.

The manga channel J-One also joins the ViacomCBS library, giving Japanese animation fans access to content following the first broadcast in Japan.
