Instrument Appoints Clarke-Puntney To Lead Nike Business

Digital and brand agency Instrument has appointed Rocky Clarke-Puntney to oversee its Nike business as  Nike group executive director.

The Portland-based agency has worked with Nike for ten years most recently creating campaigns like Until We All Win, the brand’s push for equality, and You Can’t Stop Us, a COVID-19-related campaign.

The agency provides a number of services for Nike that range from digital innovation and product creation to digital marketing strategy and production. “The role is simply to oversee all of Instrument’s Nike business, to be a conduit between our teams and to be a trusted advisor to our Nike clients,” said Justin Lewis, CEO, Instrument.

Clarke-Puntney, who has been with Instrument for nearly nine years, was the “natural choice” since she is “largely responsible” for the strength of our relationship with Nike, says Lewis. Her colleague, Anne Potter, associate executive director, will assume Clarke-Puntney’s responsibilities on the product and Innovation team. “We’re excited by the new opportunities that each of these ladies have worked so hard to foster,” adds Lewis.

Although this is Instrument’s only client-specific position, Lewis foresees rolling out similar roles for other clients.

The MDC Partners agency works with companies including Quibi and Pinterest.
