Cyber Monday Web Traffic Rose By 5.9%: Study

Cyber Monday web traffic rose by 5.9% year-over-year -- but it did not surpass Black Friday traffic, contrary to expectations, according to Michael Osborne, CEO of SmarterHQ.

In addition, traffic fell by 12.3% the day before Thanksgiving, following an AWS outage.

Black Friday web traffic increased 9.25% from 2019 to 2020.

The findings are based on web traffic statistics for SmarterHQ’s retail customer base. This includes such brands as Bloomingdale’s, Michael Kors, American Eagle Outfitters, Sam’s Club and Eddie Bauer.

SmarterHQ listed the daily totals as follows:

  • 11/26 — 273,648,578
  • 11/27 — 523,292,154
  • 11/28 — 452,310,722
  • 11/29 — 452,310,722
  • 11/30 — 453,311,431
