Twitter's Revue Purchase Will Fuel Email Newsletters

Twitter has acquired Revue, a service that helps individuals publish email newsletters, the company said in a blog post on Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.

The social network hopes to offer writers and publishers new ways to create and share their content, the post says.

Revue will continue as a stand-alone service. In addition, Twitter plans to expand the team, and is seeking to fill key roles in engineering, design, research and data science.

In addition, Twitter is offering paid newsletters to drive "audience-based monetization."

Revue’s Pro features are free for all accounts, and the service is lowering its paid newsletter fee to 5%.
