Email Senders Now Can Drag And Drop 2 Million Free Photos

Email marketers are being offered access to a library with over 2 million images for free use in campaigns.

The new service -- the Free Image Gallery -- is the result of a partnership between Campaign Monitor, an email software purveyor and CM Group brand, and Unsplash, an image provider with a community of over 200,000 photographers.

The goal is to "make it even easier for creators to find inspiring images for whatever they may be creating," states Stephanie Liverani, co-founder and head of partnerships at Unsplash.

Users can search by topic for appropriate images, then drag and drop them within the Campaign Monitor email marketing platform.

Using Unsplash’s “incredibly curated source of visuals, they can use the Free Image Gallery to find a beautiful and relevant image without ever leaving the email builder,” states Desta Price, chief product officer at CM Group.

Marketers have used over 11,000 free images in the two weeks the service has been live, and express enthusiasm about the service.

Stuart Beaty, European project manager at Klippa Relocation, finds the service highly convenient, stating that previously, the company "had to find, download and then upload images manually.”

Campaign Monitor reports that 70% of the content added to its email builder are images. Yet 40% of customers source images from stock image websites, and 70% have to upload the images manually.

Unsplash, founded as a blog with only ten photos in 2013, now provides a platform for sharing images free for use. It claims over 100 million image downloads and 20 billion image views per month.

In addition to Campaign Monitor, CM Group includes Emma, Vuture, Delivra, Liveclicker, Sailthru and Selligent.
