MDC Partners Names New Investor Relations Head

As MDC Partners prepares to merge with Stagwell Group, company leaders are hiring Michaela Pewarski as Vice President of Investor Relations.

In the new role, Pewarski will manage all aspects of shareholder relations and drive a strategic IR program focused on building and maintaining MDC Partners’ relationships with buy-side investors and sell-side analysts.

Once the combination between Stagwell and MDC is complete, she will oversee IR for the combined entity. She will be based in New York, working directly with CEO/Chairman Mark Penn as well as the company’s General Counsel and finance team.

This is an important role as leaders plot out MDC’s transformation and planned growth post-pandemic. Although MDC previously had IR functions, most recently, these responsibilities were shared across several functions. But company leaders sought to add a new position to represent a “commitment” to enhanced investor engagement, explains an agency representative.

Pewarski joins MDC from Afiniti, an Artificial Intelligence company where she served as director of investor relations, financial planning & analysis and corporate development. Earlier in her career, she worked for Macquarie Capital as a vice president in the equities sales division. She also served in the equity research division at Credit Suisse.

“Our proposed combination with The Stagwell Group will create a truly unique, at scale mix of creative talent and digital expertise, making us a key digital transformation partner to clients as we broaden our capabilities and reach,” said Pewarski. I look forward to sharing this story with investors.”
