DDB North America has appointed Jatinder Singh Chief Data Officer, reinforcing efforts to shore up data capabilities underpinning client work.
Singh joins from agency parent Omnicom where he was Global Chief Marketing Sciences Officer at the company’s Precision Marketing Group.
Singh is tasked with diversifying the agency’s data usage across all of its functions.
He’ll report to Justin Thomas-Copeland, who joined the agency last year as CEO North America. Thomas-Copeland, who like Singh is a veteran of the Precision Marketing Group, joined DDB last year with a to-do list that includes upping the agency’s data capabilities.
At a 4A’s event earlier this year Thomas-Copeland said clients are providing greater challenges to agencies as they grapple with major issues like the COVID-19 pandemic. “They’re asking for help and demanding creative solutions,” he said. Data, creativity and talent are key components to those solutions, he added.
Singh said that DDB has made strides in data science innovation. "Data will continue to evolve and push creativity farther, and DDB is the perfect incubator for the growth of both data and creativity."
