Omnicom Group has appointed Chris Foster CEO of Omnicom Public Relations Group (OPRG) effective June 28.

Foster will oversee the public relations portfolio within Omnicom, which includes Ketchum, Porter Novelli, FleishmanHillard and other agencies. Current interim CEO, John Doolittle, will become the Chairman of OPRG.

Foster was previously North America president at BCW. Earlier he was worldwide executive vice president and Chief Business Development Officer at Burson-Marsteller. Earlier he was senior vice president & partner at Booz Allen Hamilton working in both the firm’s commercial and international market sectors.

The last full time permanent CEO at the PR group was Karen Van Bergen who stepped down in 2019 to run Omnicom’s management development program Omnicom University.
