Redbox Inks Content Deal With Crackle

Redbox, the digital/physical rental and on-demand company of movies and TV shows, has made a deal to add content from Crackle Plus, an ad-supported video on demand platform group.

Crackle content in the deal including titles such as “Cold Blood,” “Crown Vic,” “Grand Isle,” “Lennox Lewis: The Untold Story” and “Playing With Power: The Nintendo Story.” Those titles and others will be added to Redbox Free Live TV platform, a free ad-supported service.

Crackle Plus owns and operates ad-supported VOD networks Crackle, Popcornflix, as well as Chicken Soup for the Soul. Crackler Plus is own by Chicken Soup for the Soul Inc. Crackle Plus has ad-supported TV rights to over 11,000 films and 22,000 episodes of TV series.

Free Live TV has nearly 100 channels, including three Redbox channels focused on movies.

Redboox says it delivers movies, TV shows and other content to 40 million customers across multiple entertainment windows
Redbox newer digital businesses complement Redbox's nationwide footprint of more than 40,000 physical kiosks, where consumers can rent TV shows and movies.

From end of May 2020 until May 27, 2021, Redbox spent $2.9 million on national TV advertising, according to iSpot.tv.
