Expedia Group Encourages Vaccinations In New Campaign

Online travel giant Expedia Group has launched a global campaign encouraging people to get vaccinated and is donating at least $10 million to help UNICEF’s global response effort to the pandemic.

The company said that the brands within the group including Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo and others are swapping out existing ad buys to distribute a new 30-second spot promoting the effort, called, “Give The World A Shot.” It debuts later this month.

The company will donate a certain amount for each purchase made via mobile apps by consumers.

The spot, developed with agency Fortnight will be seen across different networks and digital platforms including NBC, CBS, National Geographic, CNN, ESPN and a number of others.

The company said the campaign represents a new and more unified vision for the brands under Jon Gieselman, who joined as President of Expedia Brands about two months ago from Apple. He’s credited with spearheading the effort.
