Univision has selected Comscore as its exclusive linear
local audience measurement provider for Hispanic TV stations it is acquiring in Washington, D.C. and Tampa and Orlando, Florida.
The companies will also work together to “refine”
Comscore’s measurement capabilities to capture more of the Hispanic audience, according to their announcement.
Univision has been a longtime subscriber to Comscore's Digital Audience
Services and OnDemand Essentials.
Last month, it was announced that Univision will take control of two central Florida stations, WVEN-TV and WOTF-TV, and WFDC-DT in Washington D.C., when
Entravision’s licensing agreement with the stations end Dec. 31.
Comscore, which uses set-top box data for audience measurement, has been picking up more media clients as the
long-dominant Nielsen service has come under fire for undercounting viewers during the pandemic, which led to suspension of its national and local accreditation by the Media Ratings Council.
