Gmail is back up and running after a Friday morning outage that affected users across the UK and Europe, according to media reports.
The failure -- which also affected apps -- lasted
five hours, according to The Daily Mail.
'On Friday November 12 around 08:30 am UTC, some of our users experienced a service disruption to
Google Cloud services, including Google Workspace,” Google said. 'This issue is now resolved.'
The recovery also extends to Gmail: "The problem with
Gmail has been resolved,” Google says, according to Techradar.
It was not clear at deadline if this affected marketing emails. Gmail users catching up with emails they
weren’t able to access might overlook those.
Downdetector says there are no U.S. problems with emails, although there appeared to be a slight spike in
reports, peaking shows an hike in reports, peaking around 11 a.m. ET.
