Peloton Ad Featuring Chris Noth Pulled After Assault Allegations Against Him

A quick-response ad, created by Ryan Reynolds' ad agency after the first episode of  the "Sex and the City" reboot ran, has been pulled because of news about actor Chris Noth’s alleged sexual assault of two women.

The Hollywood Reporter ran a story on Thursday that alleged Noth sexually assaulted each of them on separate occasions, in Los Angeles and New York, in 2004 and 2015.

In response, Noth issued the following statement: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

Regardless, Peloton decided to pull an ad that was made in response to Noth's appearance in "And Just Like That," the "Sex" reboot. The ad featured Noth as Mr. Big in a seemingly upscale/living-room setting, talking about “new beginnings” with instructor Jess King. “Shall we take another ride?” he asks, glancing back at two bikes, while the first movement of Beethoven’s "Moonlight Sonata" plays.

In the wake of the allegations, Peloton issued the following statement: “Every single sexual assault accusation must be taken seriously. We were unaware of these allegations when we featured Chris Noth in our response to HBO’s reboot. As we seek to learn more, we have stopped promoting this video and archived related social posts.”
