CEO Switch At Omnicom Media Group EMEA

There was big news out of Omnicom Media Group today with the company disclosing that Guy Marks has been promoted to CEO of Omnicom Media Group Europe, Middle East & Africa.

In his new role, Marks, previously head of OMD EMEA, will oversee strategy, operations and the development of new capabilities to support OMG agencies, which include OMD, PHD, Hearts & Science and data/analytics unit Annalect. He will report to OMG CEO Florian Adamski.

Marks joined OMG in 2014 following Omnicom’s acquisition of UX, the design and tech consultancy service he co-founded. He was named CEO of OMD EMEA in 2018.

Marks succeeds Mike Cooper, who is shifting to the role of vice dhairman, Omnicom Group Europe, reporting to Daryl Simm, who was elevated from OMG CEO to Omnicom Group President and COO in November.

Cooper’s new role follows 25 years in leadership roles at OMG, including stints as CEO of PHD Worldwide and CEO of both EMEA and APAC, where he led the original formation of OMD.  

In his new role, he will support Omnicom’s international client strategy.  In addition, he will be involved in Omnicom University, Omnicom’s talent development program working with Karen Van Bergen, Dean of Omnicom U.
