
BBDO has announced some major moves in the
executive creative suite.
Luiz Sanches will take on the role of Chief Creative Officer, BBDO North America. Matt MacDonald is being elevated to Chief Creative Officer of the New York
office.
MacDonald reports to Luiz, and Luiz reports to David Lubars, Global Chief Creative Officer, BBDO Worldwide. Both will
work closely with Lubars.
Sanches is an agency vet; he spent 25+ years at Almap BBDO in Brazil. He has also received more than 190 Cannes Lions. He was recognized as the
best-performing creative director by the Gunn Report, and recognized twice at Cannes.
In 2013, Sanches became agency partner of Almap BBDO and remains Chairman and Chief Creative Officer. The
campaigns he led includes Volkswagen, Havaianas and Audi.

MacDonald joined BBDO in 2014 and served as the Chief Creative Officer for Omnicom on AT&T, one of the company’s largest
accounts in North America. He also helped lead Omnicom’s 2016 win of AT&T’s consolidated media and creative business. In 2021, he was key to securing The Home Depot win.
MacDonald and his team have also won top awards from Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, etc.
David Lubars, Global Chief Creative Officer, BBDO Worldwide, said the duo “represent
