Annelies Jansen, former Meta vice president of commerce partnerships, has become president and COO of Spring, a creator commerce platform with 9 million creators.
At Spring, Jansen will focus on
building out the company’s partnership strategies to drive growth while overseeing the general operations of the business with the goal of positioning Spring as the leading global commerce
platform for the creator economy.
By integrating major social media networks directly into its platform, Spring invites creators to design products, create a custom online store, connect their
social accounts, and collect on sales while Spring handles production, shipping, and customer support.
“My primary goal in business is to nurture the happy marriage between influence and
profile, and commercial and financial achievements,” says Jansen. “This is very much aligned with Spring's mission: to provide creators with the right tools to enable business success. My
experience in creating, running and building international growth through smart scaling with an ecosystem of partners in a number of businesses, is a right fit for the Spring’s next phase of
growth.”
During her time at Meta, Jansen developed a global network of first and third party commerce partners to bring content to Facebook Commerce. Most notably, Jansen launched
Instagram's in-app purchase feature –– Instagram checkout –– in 2019.
According to a recent statement, Spring’s new user growth on the platform has increased by
160%, along with a 93% growth in the number of creators actively selling their products with Spring.
