Buckingham Palace’s email
system may need some toning up. An email informing cricket star Moeen Ali that he was on the Queen’s Birthday Honors list went into his junk folder.
The email was to notify Ali
that he had been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) award for his services to cricket, according to The Mirror. But the star never received it in his
inbox.
Several weeks after the email went out, Ali was finally notified by phone and was thrilled to receive the news.
Presumably,
this episode doesn’t indicate that the Palace is spamming people and has poor deliverability. But it could reflect the types of things that Ali has unsubscribed
from.
The phone message said: “You’ve got some important news,” the Mirror says. Of course, Ali was pleased.
Ali was on the
squad that won the World Cup in 2019.
The story broke this week during the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.
There are many fine email vendors in England who might offer
their services.
