Boathouse has appointed Geoff Gates as Creative Director of Social Strategy and Content. He’ll report to Eve Asbury (Co-leader Creative & Production) and Margaret McGovern (Executive Creative Director/Co-leader of Creative and Production).
According to the agency, in his new role, Gates will be tasked further developing Boathouse's organic social and content capabilities to meet client needs. He’ll also help integrate the social and content strategy within the agency’s creative team.
Previously Gates led the social and content team at the Los Angeles Lakers overseeing their 66 million-plus followers worldwide. He and his team were responsible for the Lakers social media channels and content strategy, along with the creation of all content that populated social, web, email, and apps.
Gates was also involved in cultivating new partnerships within the franchise’s Corporate Partnerships unit.
Earlier he served at both Deloitte Digital and Vayner.
