Comedian and former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Leslie Jones does a star turn in a new ad from the Lincoln Project in which she encourages every eligible voter to do so during the midterm elections.
But her message is pointed most directly at African Americans. Republicans, she asserts in the ad will go to great effort this year to “strike down the ballots of millions of U.S. voters, especially African Americans.”
And it won’t be just lawyers reviewing votes cast, she said. There will be “intimidation and even violence at polling places and drop boxes.” As she narrates, grim looking images of Republicans like Trump, McCarthy, Green and Guiliani are intermixed with white thugs looking, well, intimidating.

But there are also images of determined looking crowds—Black and white alike—who look like they aren’t taking guff from anybody.
Republicans, jones adds, “aren’t willing to lose even when they do.”
But “there is no voice louder than your vote,” Jones says. “Don’t be intimidated. Stay in line, get it done. They are counting on you being scared.”
But the response to that intimidation must be “Hell No!” Jones exclaims.
