'Jet' Magazine Returns To Print With Pinky Cole Cover

Jet Magazine is back as a print product after a nine-year hiatus.

The limited release features Pinky Cole, CEO and founder of Slutty Vegan, a $100 million vegan food empire, along with the Pinky Cole Foundation, on the cover. The headline states, “Pinky Is The New Black.”

It is now available.

“Given that Pinky and Jet are all about building community and highlighting culture, we thought that this limited collector’s issue is a great way to fuel and ignite our combined audiences with this partnership,” states Daylon A. Goff, president of Jet.

“This moment is so personal and special to me because in many ways, Jet helped shape who I wanted to become and who I am now,” Cole adds. “As I look back at myself as a kid, I want every little girl out there to know that dreams do really come true.”

Founded in 1951 by John H. Johnson, Jet was purchased out of bankruptcy, along with its sister publication Ebony,  by Bridgeman Sports and Media, a firm owned by retired NBA star Ulysses “Junior” Bridgeman, in 2020. The price was $14 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The publication chronicled Black life in America, covering stories about the African-American community that mainstream media ignored or misrepresented, the publisher says.

Prior Jet cover stars have included Barack Obama, Muhammed Ali, Aretha Franklin, Kendrick Lamar, Nat King Cole, Richard Pryor, Octavia Spencer and Michael B Jordan.
