Ford Releases Trail App For Bronco Owners

Ford Motor Co. has developed an app for Bronco owners looking to test their vehicle’s off-road capabilities.

The Bronco Trail App, available for Apple iOS and Google Android mobile devices, was unveiled at Bronco Safari 2023 in Utah, where hundreds of Bronco enthusiasts are gathering to show off their vehicles and tackle some of the challenging trails that can be found in the area.

Available exclusively for Bronco owners, the app features 1,200 professionally curated off-road trail maps across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. It provides the ability to record drives with waypoints, photos and video.  Future updates will continue to add more trails and features.

Users can share adventures on social media.

The app will help those looking to get the most out of their Bronco, says Matt Winter, Bronco brand manager.

“We know our customers value the time they take to go out there and get away from it all, and this app offers them an easy way to share the exciting experiences they have and connect with other off-roaders,” Winter says in a statement.

Downloadable satellite imagery and 2D topographic maps will help drivers stay prepared for the journey ahead even if they go off-the-grid and off line.

One cool feature is a tire pressure gauge. Some trails recommend lower or higher tire pressure to traverse. A real-time tire pressure gauge is built into the app to assist with adjusting to desired tire pressure on the trail and recommended pressure for the road.

Videos can be captured and viewed in the app or through a connection with the Bronco’s center console, with overlay data like speed, RPM, distance traveled and elevation. Once a user is done recording, the video will be automatically saved to their phone and available to share via text, social media channel or in online forums.
